About Us

Serving the East Valley since July 2010, Perfect Pooch Dog Training specializes in premium, in-home behavioral modification and obedience. We believe real change happens in the dog’s natural environment, working directly with families to address issues at the core, manage unwanted behaviors, and reinforce positive habits through custom 6- and 8-session packages.

 

Position Summary

We are looking for a reliable, highly organized, and passionate Part-Time Dog Trainer to join our team. In this role, you will lead group training classes, conduct in-home private training sessions, and serve as an engaging public communicator for our brand.

Because you will be working directly in clients' homes and leading group settings, you must be comfortable operating with minimal supervision, handling dogs of all sizes and behavioral profiles (including reactivity, aggression, and anxiety), and educating human owners with confidence.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Group Class Instruction: Lead engaging, structured group obedience and socialization classes for dogs and their handlers.

• In-Home Private Coaching: Travel to clients' homes throughout our primary and extended service areas to deliver custom behavioral modification and obedience training (6- and 8-session packages).

• Client Education & Public Speaking: Effectively present training concepts, coach family members of all ages, and comfortably present to audiences in group environments or community events.

• Behavioral Assessment & Management: Evaluate dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, developing safe, practical, and effective management strategies tailored to each household.

• Self-Management & Reliability: Manage your schedule efficiently, arrive on time, track client progress accurately, and operate independently without constant direct supervision.

• Assisting with videography, both taking and editing videos for the Youtube channel and other social media platforms. (see our Youtube channel HERE for an idea of the videos and editing)

• Primary Service Zone (Blue)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Passion: Must love dogs and be passionate to teach.  Our training sessions are for the humans (we teach them) and the group socials are for the dogs.

• Experience: NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, but willing to learn proven methods for basic obedience, behavioral modification, and group instruction.

• Versatility: Experience and comfort handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and behavioral challenges.

• Communication: Exceptional verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and public speaking ability.

• Organization: Strong time-management and self-organizational skills to independently manage client appointments.

• Reliability & Mobility: Reliable personal transportation, a valid driver’s license, and active auto insurance to travel within our service area.

• Physical Capability: Ability to safely control and handle strong, reactive, or large dogs.

 

Perks & Schedule

• Flexible, part-time schedule (includes evenings and/or weekends for group classes and in-home visits).

• Working Hours: Variable/Part-time. Total weekly hours depend directly on active client bookings and scheduled group classes.

• Travel compensation/fees for extended zone sessions.
